A chapter tracker for web novels, manga and books
Progression fantasy and LitRPG are read in chapters, across half a dozen sites, over years. A shelf that only knows “reading” or “finished” loses the only detail that matters - which chapter you stopped on, and whether the author has posted since. MyFableVault tracks the chapter, checks the source for you, and tells you when a serial you follow moves ahead.
Where the chapter counts come from
Each source is read the way that source actually publishes, because a generic scraper gets this wrong in ways you only notice months later.
Royal Road
Chapters are matched on Royal Road's own permanent chapter id, not a number scraped from the title - so a serial that unpublishes its early chapters or renumbers a volume does not silently reset your place.

The landing page's own data blob gives the true chapter count and the newest chapter's id and publish time. That beats the public chapter list, which omits chapters still behind privilege - 690 listed against a real 710 on a book with 20 in advance.
Manga - AniList, MangaDex and MangaUpdates
AniList leaves the chapter count null until a series finishes, so alone it can never flag a new chapter on an ongoing manga. The count is the highest of all three sources, matched by id rather than by title.
Kindle, via Goodreads
Kindle has no public API, but a Kindle can auto-post shelf moves to a linked Goodreads account. Connect one and your published-book reads and page progress come across on their own.
Everything else - reader consensus
A book with no external chapter source still gets a latest chapter: the highest chapter at least three readers here have reached. It only ever moves up, so one reader correcting their progress cannot retract a chapter the readership has passed.
Common questions
How do I track what chapter I am on?
Add a book to your list and set your progress - a chapter for serials, a page for published books, a volume for manga. Serials with a chapter list get a searchable picker rather than a number box, so you pick the chapter by name. "Mark caught up" jumps you to the newest chapter in one click.
How do I know when a new chapter is out?
Books you are Reading are re-checked in the background, and anything that has published past your recorded position gets a "New" badge on your list plus a notification. You are only told about chapters you have not reached.
Does it track manga and manhwa as well as web novels?
Yes. Manga is counted rather than matched chapter-by-chapter, pooling AniList, MangaDex and MangaUpdates so an ongoing series is not stuck waiting for AniList to publish a final count.
Can I read in the app?
You can open EPUB and PDF files in the built-in reader, and it remembers where you stopped. For serials hosted elsewhere, the Read button sends you to the exact chapter you saved.
Is it free?
Yes. Tracking, ratings and the reader are all free, and no card is needed to make an account.
